Nestled in the beautiful Northwest Angle at the very top of Minnesota on Lake of the Woods is the secluded Sportsman's Oak Island Lodge.  It's not uncommon to see a bear, moose, or a whitetail deer swimming when you're out fishing. If you like nature, you're going to love Sportsman's Oak Island lodge.

This undisturbed remote island is a place where nature thrives. It's filled with bald eagles, deer, and bears and the fishing is undoubtedly world-class. In this part of the Lake of the Woods, there is an abundant population of Walleye, Sauger, Northern Pike, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass, Perch, and big Slab Crappies. Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources has determined this to be a World-Class Fishery.

“We fish in both Minnesota and Canadian waters and catch a variety of species.  This lodge has the feel of a fly-in lodge, it is tucked away in nature, it's amazing,” said Sportsman's Lodges, Co-Owner, Gregg Hennum.

The perfect day starts and ends here . . . wake up to a big breakfast and then head off for world-class freshwater fishing. Whether you're fishing for big Muskie or hauling in Walleye, you're gonna catch fish!

After a day on the lake head back to the island for one of the best dinners you'll ever have, but don't take my word for it . . . here's what a recent guest had to say:

"Greg, we had a great time fishing and our stay at the resort was very enjoyable. The staff all did an excellent job. One question. Would it be possible to get the recipe for the batter you use on the deep fried walleye?
I would like to use it on the fish we took with us if possible.
Thanks, we will be back to visit again!"
