Winter Rates

2023 – 2024 winter season. December 26 – Late March.

It may look like a frozen tundra, but just under a thick layer of ice, the walleyes are waiting for your best shot.

Winter brings a special time and a whole new world to the North Country. Lakes once warm and wet, turn into a frozen expanse of ice thick enough to support cars, trucks, snowmobiles, and of course, ice anglers. Up to 4 feet many years.  Sportsman’s Oak Island Lodge remains open all winter (December to March) to serve you. After spending the day out fishing, nothing is more comforting than our beautiful log surroundings and a warm welcoming wood fire.

We offer heated ice fishing houses ready to go with bait, jig sticks, and jigs upon request.  We clean your fish for you too. Our comfortable bombardier will transport you out to the fish house and pick you up at the end of the day. Our fishing areas are a short 10-minute ride away. What an experience!

Winter Adventureland!

Snowmobile enthusiasts have finally found their home. We are the perfect base for exploring the islands in winter splendor. Marked trails connect us with the south shore of Lake of the Woods to the outer reaches of the east and north shores. There is very little traffic and the scenery is breathtaking. Snowmobilers enjoy our popular lounge and many old acquaintances are rekindled. Stop in for your favorite hot or cold beverage. Our full menu and pizzas are always served daily for that trailside snack.
